RIP Handshakes

Is this the end of the handshake? I must say that for me this would be no loss at all.

Personally, I have always felt really uncomfortable with shaking hands - maybe it's just me but it always feels like such a masculine thing to do and not what I as a woman would naturally do at all. For me it has always been the ultimate example of something that I do in order to 'fit in' with the established way of doing things and the opposite of authentic.

I have never managed to come up with a better alternative though, so if all of this creates one then I would love that. I know that people find the 'just the right amount of strength' in the handshake to be important - a Fortune 500 CEO once said that when he had to choose between two candidates with similar qualifications, he gave the position to the one with the better handshake (I wonder how many women made the cut based on this criteria, I would not have, that is for sure!) I'm sure the moment of eye contact and connection it creates is important too.

Maybe a nice robust arm rub and squeeze could do the job? It would certainly be an improvement from my point of view.
